Shepherdsville KY Maternity and Newborn Photographer | Sarah Downs Rainbow Baby Story

Shepherdsville KY Maternity and Newborn Photographer shares a special session that started out with an innocent model call that turned into an amazing story of triumph.

Every photographer goes through a period of where they need a creative outlet that is outside of their normal routine. For me, that time came earlier this season and put out a model call for a very specific image I wanted to create. Sarah Downs answered that call to action, and I’m so glad that she did. My idea had a general underlying meaning to it about new growth and rebirth. Little did I know that this theme would ring so loudly to this very special lady I was about to meet.

Sarah recounts her experiences below:

“Everyone has their own opinions of pregnancy. Some love it, some hate it, some even never want it; it’s all in who you talk to. My lifelong dream has always been to have a family & to be a Momma.

In May of 2018 I lost not only myself, but a 5 week old baby. No particular reason why, but I truly believe God has a reason for everything. At that point in my life I wasn’t in a situation that was healthy or happy for myself or a child. My heart was shattered & it took me a long time to get myself back to somewhat mentally stable again.

Fast forward, I meet the ONE. The LOVE OF MY LIFE. My now husband, Alex. I tell him all the time how he saved me & he doesn’t even realize. We got married back in June of 2020 & a month later we found out we’d be bringing in a sweet baby into the world come March 2021. As terrified as I was, the happiness was so overwhelming. A baby, my rainbow baby, with the love of my life. So basically my pregnancy was so special for a few different reasons.

I met Jennifer by chance. I was tagged in a post about her looking for someone for her to work with on a maternity shoot. We spoke over Facebook & she agreed I’d be a good fit & now here we are.

Jennifer made me feel even more beautiful than I already felt pregnant. I have a whole new appreciation for a woman’s body, what we can do is amazing, there’s almost no words. The shoot reflected on rebirth & a new life, growth, which is exactly what was happening, how perfect, right?

Now not only did she capture that story for me, she’s going to capture that new life, and I couldn’t be more thankful.

Jennifer is an amazing photographer, but she also becomes a friend & she roots for you, hypes you up & makes you feel amazing. I am so so happy we crossed paths. She will forever be highly recommended in my book!”

Sarah went on to say, “After my first session with Jennifer and discussing how the newborn session worked, it didn’t take much convincing. I wanted a special session for Harlow, and that’s exactly what she gave me. The pictures are nothing short of amazing. The detail of the pictures she provides mean so much to me. This session was even more special with her being my rainbow baby; I’ll forever have these pictures to love and cherish.”

As you’ll see in the images below, we incorporated a lot of purples into Harlow’s session! Purple is Sarah’s favorite color and the nursery is also covered in shades of purples and pinks. We also did a few images in creams to compliment the parent shots we photographed on the bed setup. I love for clients to have images that they can pair together from different parts of the session to tell their story.

Shepherdsville KY Newborn Photographer | Camila Bohn | jlritt.com

I was so honored when Celeste contacted me to be her Shepherdsville KY Newborn Photographer, especially since she is a photographer herself. I take that as such a high compliment when other photographers choose me as their newborn photographer! To me, it means they trust me enough to take their photographs… even though they have such high standards from being able to reflect on their own skills and works. Having a keen eye for details themselves just elevates the level of appreciation for my work and the end product that I deliver. I know some people are funny about photographing other photographers, but I love it!

These were the family’s favorites from their session and I have to agree that they were my favorites as well! Momma picked the color scheme and had several setups from previous sessions that she had seen and wanted a similar recreation of. Of course I was happy to oblige and put a new spin on them!

New Albany IN Newborn Photographer | Baby G | jlritt.com

Look no further if you are in search of a professional New Albany IN Newborn Photographer. My studio is just 20-25 minutes south of New Albany and is located in Mount Washington, KY. I have clients that travel from all over the Louisville Metro area, and have some that drive over 2 hours to get to me for their sessions. Some may say that is too far of a drive, but my clients always tell the naysayers that they are happy to drive the extra little bit of distance to get the excellent service, customer experience and high quality end products by working with my studio.

Baby Graham came to see me a few weeks ago and this little butterball weighed in just over 10 pounds by half an ounce. I’d say he’s learning to be an overachiever at a young age, especially since he totally rocked his newborn session and slept like a champ through the whole thing! I was so happy with all of the adorable setups that we were able to shoot for him and they were in and out of the studio in 2 hours flat! That’s almost unheard of with the slew of light sleepers that I have had this year. Graham was a welcomed change!

Louisville KY Newborn Photographer | McCullum Family | jlritt.com

I had the opportunity to work with the McCullum family when they contacted me recently about being their Louisville KY Newborn Photographer. I was lucky to be able to fit them in last minute since William had already been born when his momma contacted me. That’s not always the case; most often than not I am booked out months in advance, but I had reserved some time off this Summer so it worked out in this instance. I’m so glad it did because William was too sweet to pass up the opportunity to work with!

Eastwood KY Newborn Photographer | Baby Julien | jlritt.com

Julien’s mom found me in an internet search when looking for the best Eastwood KY Newborn Photographaer. She chose my petit newborn session with baby only in the session in lieu of a full newborn session. Petit newborn sessions are 1 hour and are based around prop shots. I feel like these sessions have become more popular with my families that come to me with older children and are not as concerned about a family shot. These were her favorites from the session and ended up going with luxury wood prints to display them in her home.
