Sometimes when you’re a Louisville KY Newborn Photographer you’re just too excited for holiday setups before the seasons fully get here. And when that happens, you do a model call to feed that creative part of your soul that yearns for some fun Christmas setups in September. lol To my defense, I did throw in some Fall setups as well, but when you see how cute little Harli looked in her Christmas reds and greens, then you’ll see why I squealed after getting her posed.
I went with rich and earthy tones for all of the Fall setups since naturally that is what we all think of when we hear the word Autumn! Lots of rich greens, earthy browns, rustic oranges and pops of mustard all made for a beautiful melody of colors in these setups. Adding texture with extra wool layers and burlap are also a great way to add some extra eye candy to any newborn setup.
I continued with vibrant colors for a few of the Christmas setups with Harli in the bed props, but once I moved over to the final two setups then I couldn’t resist throwing in my light and airy whites! I really loved how the christmas wreath turned out; I thought it was so pretty that I’d even hang that on my own door once I was done shooting it as a prop. It’s too pretty to tear down and put away now. haha

I love being a Bullitt County Newborn Photographer because it brings with it the joys of getting to photograph so many beautiful babies! Remington was nothing short of beautiful and he had the best head full of dark hair to go along with his dashing good looks. We focused on more Earthy and Rustic newborn photography setups for his session, which is outside of my norm. I was excited about this new styling because it was going to look so great for the Fall and was able to sneak in some really cute holiday themed setups as well.
In selecting the props for this session, I really wanted to bring in the rich colors of Fall so I paired dark browns, rust, deep green and some pops of mustard to really set the mood of the setups. Adding tattered layers and curly wool fluff also bring in a lot of texture to the make the setups more appealing to the eye. But I couldn’t stray too far from my creams, so I snuck in a really cute setup with a cute little snow fox felted plushie for a nod to the winter. We went ahead and threw together a really cute gingerbread themed setup for Christmas as well since it will be here before you know it. Remington looks like he had baked himself right to sleep with this cute little baking inspired gingerbread setup.

She was so patient and nurturing with our little guy. She’s a natural with babies!! We never felt stressed or rushed or anything. It’s was quite a relaxing and enjoyable experience for all of us. I have had the great pleasure in photographing several sets of newborn twins in my career and have been quickly recognized as the “go-to” Twins Newborn Photographer in Kentucky. I am humbled by this recognition, but I couldn’t do it without my wonderful assistant, Natasha Clark Photography. She assists me for all twins newborn sessions to add that extra layer of safety for the babies, reassurance for mommas and overall speed to the session. Newborn Session sitting fees cover the time and talent of the photographer, use of my extensive prop collection, styling consultation and gallery review / ordering appointment. This fee is universal across the board whether or not I am photographing one baby or five! The additional costs that I incurr to pay an assistant are never passed onto the family because I believe in keeping the costs as low as possible for the families of multiples. It’s a blessing to their parents to have twins, and in many cases it’s a medical miracle for them to even be conceived, so it’s my belief that their parents shouldn’t be “penalized” with extra session fees.
Twins newborn sessions generally do take a little bit longer and yield less photos than a single baby session just for the fact that you are trying to settle two babies at once instead of one. However, I work with each baby individually as well while the other may be feeding or needing a diaper change. This helps to keep the session progressing and allows for each baby to have their photos taken by themselves, which can make for beautiful wall collages. It was an honor being chosen to be Brooks’ Shepherdsville KY Rainbow Baby Newborn Photographer. Especially since his mommy was one of the Rainbow Baby Maternity Event participants, Leslie Savko.
Brooks’ session had a Rainbow Baby theme, as well as incorporated some light blues and neutral tones since his nursery was decorated in vintage planes with those colors. His big sister was really excited about having a little brother, and I think it really shows in her adorably sweet facial expressions! These are just a handful of my favorites from their session!

When the Kendrick Family set out to find their Kentucky Professional Newborn Photographer, they put out a request into the local military wives Facebook group for Fort Knox, KY. Brandy said she had several of the moms recommend my studio as the name to beat around town, so she called me up and the rest is history. I had an immediate connection with her. Call it luck that the found me and we hit it off so well, but I call it fate!
I think Brandy can be classified as one of the most appreciative and excited clients to ever come through those studio doors. From the props to the products, there wasn’t anything she wasn’t over the moon about when it came to seeing her images. This is what I like to call a “dream client.” She was genuinely ecstatic every step of the way and it just reminded me why I love this job so much.
Her husband is in the military and was home long enough to see Lila being born, but then he had a training assignment immediately afterward. He was coming home literally for one day and then back out again, so naturally I cleared my schedule and shot her session on July 3rd, even though the next day was a holiday and most people took that weekend as an extended vacation Friday through Tuesday. I didn’t even think twice about it!
Below are a handful of my favorites. The theme of her session was based on my signature styling of light and airy with a hint of vintage romance. I think we hit the nail on the head. What do you think?
